Skeleton Technologies is pleased to announce the appointment of Grischa Sauerberg as Chief Commercial Officer to lead the group’s commercial activities. Sauerberg brings over two decades of experience from Shell, where he has held numerous high-ranking positions, most recently serving as Vice President of Sectoral Decarbonization & Innovation.
In his role as Chief Commercial Officer, Grischa Sauerberg will lead Skeleton Technologies’ commercial organization, responsible for sales, project management, application engineering and marketing. He will bring his extensive experience and expertise in the energy market and in off-grid segments to accelerate Skeleton’s business growth in these hard-to-abate sectors. As VP of Sectoral Decarbonization & Innovation, Sauerberg was leading Shell’s decarbonization plans for the mining sector and collaborated with Skeleton on electrification of mining trucks and operations.

Grischa’s 23 years at Shell have been marked by significant achievements in decarbonization efforts. As VP of Sectoral Decarbonization & Innovation he was responsible for the profitable decarbonization of the mining sector, new sector development, and for driving Shell’s innovation roadmap in the business. His team developed and commercialized decarbonization solutions across Shell and with partners, including electrification of assets and fleets, low carbon fuels, and renewable power. During his career at Shell, he was also involved in venture investments in cleantech companies.
With a background in Business Administration from the Hamburg School of Business Administration, Grischa combines academic knowledge with practical experience, making him a valuable addition to Skeleton’s executive team. Grischa Sauerberg was also Chairman of the Board of MachineMax, a London-based equipment management platform helping businesses manage their heavy equipment more efficiently, and member of the Supervisory Board of Aviation Fuelling Services Norway, a Joint Venture between Shell and ST1, a provider of aviation fuel in the Norwegian market.
