Skeleton Technologies and GDELS Santa Barbara Sistemas to Collaborate on Estonian Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems

PARIS, France – Skeleton Technologies and GDELS Santa Barbara Sistemas (GDELS-SBS) signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the 2026 Eurosatory conference to collaborate on advanced Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and interceptor missile technologies that will improve Estonia’s defense capabilities in an increasingly complex security environment. The signing was witnessed by the Estonian Minister of Defense, Hanno Pevkur.

The strategic partnership will focus on integrating Skeleton’s power systems into GDELS-SBS’ military mobility platforms, enabling enhanced propulsion performance for Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems. Skeleton’s solutions deliver instantaneous high current bursts that enable rapid launch, aggressive maneuvering, and reliable operation of interceptor systems where conventional batteries fall short. By combining this capability with GDELS’ vehicles and system integration capabilities as leader OEM for defence land systems , the companies will enable compact, lightweight, and highly responsive solutions for last-layer air defense and next-generation counter-drone systems. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in the consolidation and internationalization of Estonia’s defence industry.

“Drone threats have made counter-UAS one of the most urgent operational requirements for NATO’s eastern flank,” said Taavi Madiberk, CEO and co-founder of Skeleton Technologies. “This joint development between Skeleton and GDELS is focused on strengthening air defense with systems designed specifically for modern drone warfare. Skeleton’s Europe-based technology and supply chain are built to support these requirements, enabling next-generation counter-UAS and interceptor systems with the performance, reliability, and trusted sourcing NATO and its allies need.”

“As part of our multi-layer approach to Counter UAS solutions, power systems like Skeleton’s that can react in milliseconds and sustain extreme performance under dynamic conditions are a key pillar,” said Victor López, Director of International Business & Services at GDELS-SBS. “Through our partnership with Skeleton, we are enhancing the operational edge of our best-in-class military mobility solutions, enabling Estonia to effectively counter evolving aerial threats and strengthening the protection of critical assets and forces across Europe.”
