Skeleton Technologies Supercapacitor Sets Record for Highest Peak Current Certified by UL at 3,500 Amperes

Skeleton Technologies, an AI infrastructure power systems provider, today announced that its supercapacitor set a record for the highest peak current during the recently completed UL 810A safety certification process. At a volume of only 0.39 liters (L), which is approximately the size of a Coca-Cola can, the supercapacitor has a peak current rating of 3,500 amperes (A). Skeleton is one of the only UL-certified supercapacitor manufacturers with peak current in the thousands of amperes, which is about 100 times higher than regular batteries.
Data center power density is undergoing a step-change. Cabinet-level demand has increased from 10 kW in traditional environments to as much as 300 kW for AI workloads, and is quickly moving towards 1 MW. Meeting these demands requires power systems capable of delivering exceptionally high peak current.
“Our hyperscaler customers depend on Skeleton for instantaneous, reliable power delivery,” said Taavi Madiberk, CEO and co-founder at Skeleton Technologies. “Skeleton's AI power systems are already being utilized across the United States. Setting a record for highest peak current during the UL safety certification further validates our newest series of supercapacitor products. The technology is so safe that you can literally take a flame-thrower at it or shoot a bullet through it without any explosion.”

Skeleton’s AI power systems are uniquely capable of covering all AI infrastructure power needs, from the GPUs, to the power grid, from the "white-space" of the data centers, to double-conversion UPS, and power support of solid-state transformers and E-STATCOMs.
Skeleton’s GrapheneGPU solution eliminates rapid power fluctuations at data centers, reducing grid power connection requirements and overall energy consumption by up to 44 percent. GrapheneGPU is the only solution that can respond in less than 10 microseconds to match GPU reaction times and withstand degradation from constant charge and discharge cycles of modern AI workloads.
Setting a record for highest peak current and accomplishing UL 810A certification for Skeleton’s latest supercapacitors reinforces the company’s position as a leading provider of high-performance power solutions for AI data centers.
